Hello Blog Readers,
I’ve dropped down from Colorado and into Omaha, my hometown, for a family reunion, to see some old friends, and to celebrate the 2016 College World Series. My parents and sister have flown into town. My aunts, uncles, and grandparents are all here. Old law school friends are here. It’s great! Also, as luck would have it, my alma mater UCSB is in the CWS running this year, and it has been an absolute blast cheering them on during their first time participating in this event in school history! Omaha times are always good times.

Game 1 against Oklahoma State was difficult to watch, but today’s elimination game against Miami was nothing but nostalgic Gaucho spirit and pride. Seeing as Lilly and I both have Gaucho blood, my family decided to upgrade our seats to get in the action right above the Gaucho bull pen, where we all hooted and hollered “Ole, ole, ole, ole, Gauchos, Gauchos!” alongside the parents and diehard fans of the team. Though there aren’t tons of us out here in Omaha, those of us present were explosively loud, and we completely drowned out Miami’s fans. All Gaucho students and alums should be proud of our team and its amazing fans. Anyways, I don’t have too much to add beyond this for now, and I’m thinking about doing some more bar hopping tonight (Omaha has more great bars within a 5 block radius than most cities have in a 5 mile radius), so I’ll keep this entry short and sweet, and simply provide some photos from the day.

Knew it was going to be a good day the second I got here.

Lilly being Lilly…

This guy was awesome!

Here was the moment where we turned this game around against Miami.

Why not us?
Until next time.
Cheers,
Rob
