Tacoma, Washington

Okay, I don’t ever really do this, and it’s kind of messed up to be posting something so materialistic after such a spiritual day in Mt. Angel (please humanity, please don’t let this post end up getting way more views and likes than my other post…), but my hotel is absolutely amazing, my room is amazing, and I literally just want to show the world.  I am staying at the Silver Cloud Inn in Tacoma, Washington overlooking the Tacoma waterfront, and my room looks like this:

Oh, and there’s a great desk in here, pull out reading lights just above the bed (which is also the comfiest bed ever), awesome toiletries and a decent shower, and a fireplace.  This is oddly the most romantic trip I’ve ever been on in life…and sadly I’m doing it alone.  Sigh… Nevertheless, after a good jog along the waterfront, in cooler temps with clean air, and a good dinner, I’m feeling quite relaxed and pampered in this room!  Now to do a bit of reading, make some lecture notes for the course I’m teaching starting next week, and then it’s time for a good night’s sleep.  Tomorrow I’m heading to Port Angeles, to a possibly even cooler and more romantic hotel than this one (How can that even be??  Well dear reader, just wait and see!), and to see one of my best friends in life: Patrick Erker, and his wife Sheena.

To be continued…
