After my time in Hampton Beach, I headed north along the coastline, past the mansions and boats and up to Portsmouth. And…I don’t know. This post is literally just going to be a photo dump of pictures during my time here. From my epic hotel room to the town and surrounding scenery, everything just clicked with me. I couldn’t help but walk around with my mouth hanging open like a kid at Disneyland, thinking to myself, “Ohhhhhh, this is what the colonists thought America was going to look and feel like;” and, “Wow! I could really see myself living here.” It was magical, like stepping into a Harry Potter novel. So, without further ado…here are a bunch of pictures of my time in Portsmouth and the surrounding area:

If I was a good blog writer, I would include some commentary on the incredibly deep and complicated history of this place going all the way back to 1609 and up to the modern age, which includes everything from the slave trade to being a stop on Paul Revere’s ride to being a Strategic Air Force location during the Cold War. But, I’m just too in awe with all of the eye candy this place has to offer! I love the colonial architecture! Screw it, I’m going back out for the evening. There’s just too much to enjoy. Tomorrow, I am heading to Sunapee, New Hampshire to interview to be a teacher out here. I will touch base with everything I learn. More content to come on this excellent trip!
Cheers,
Rob
